A lot of handsome, comfortable car for very little money. The Insignia A is the cheap long-distance cruiser; the B is a quiet, roomy modern estate that depreciates fast.

European Car of the Year 2009 and now one of the cheapest big cars in Poland. The 2.0 CDTI (A20DTH) is the mainstream diesel, fine when the DPF, EGR, swirl flaps and injectors are looked after; the 1.8 and 1.6 Turbo petrols are simple; the 2.0 Turbo and OPC 2.8 V6 are the fast ones (4x4 available). FlexRide and AFL are the desirable options. Rust is not an issue.

Lighter, roomier and much quieter than the A: Grand Sport hatch and Sports Tourer estate. 1.5 Turbo 140/165 and 2.0 CDTI 170 (later 2.0 D 174 with 8-speed) are the mainstream; the 2.0 Turbo 260 4x4 and GSi are the fast ones. IntelliLux LED and AGR seats again. Depreciation makes it a value buy.
